Selain menjadi partner Java Jazz Festival 2010 dan SOYJOY Healthylicious, Koprol juga menjadi media partner resmi Dahsyatnya Awards 2010, acara penghargaan musisi di RCTI.

Dahsyatnya Awards akan diadakan Jumat 26 Februari 2010 jam 20.00 WIB Live dari JITEC, Mangga Dua Square dan merupakan penghargaan musisi terdahsyat yang dinilai oleh juri dan voting sms. Selain pengumuman nominasi dan pemenangnya, akan ada penampilan artis top seperti Ungu, D’Masiv, ST12, Nidji, Gigi, Triad, Wali, Kangen Band, Lyla, Gruvi, The Dance Company, Anang Hermansyah, Sherina, Vidi Aldiano, Afgan, Yuni Shara dan lainnya.

Dahsyatnya Awards ini adalah yang kedua kali, dan berdasarkan acara musik pagi andalan RCTI bernama Dahsyat (Deretan Lagu Hits Teratas) yang dipandu trio ROL: Raffi Ahmad, Olga Syahputra dan Luna Maya.

Untuk kerjasama ini, Koprol akan sayembarakan beberapa tiket untuk Koprollers bisa nonton live dengan akses khusus, dan juga menyediakan pengumuman pemenang langsung, selain tentunya memberi kabar persiapan acara dari belakang layar.

Reality show yang ini bukan di TV, tapi di Koprol.

10 Finalis akan mengikuti program SOYJOY Healthylicious selama 3 bulan (Maret-Juni 2010), dan berlomba mewujudkan resolusi hidup sehat. 2 Pemenang akan mendapatkan hadiah trip to Japan!

This year’s Java Jazz will be Koprol-ized!

One of the biggest - if not the biggest - annual music event in Jakarta is going to come up with a new social media experience!

Koprol is officially the first and only local social media partner of Java Jazz 2010 and will offer fun real-time mobile games and challenges during the event that will take place at Jakarta International Expo on 5,6,7, March 2010.

Already before the main event, Koprollers can follow Java Jazz (@javajazz) for a chance to win free Daily Pass tickets. They are doing social and fun challenges that gets Koprollers excited about the event.

We are very proud of this partnership that put us alongside the big boys of social networks, Facebook & Twitter, as one of the effective promotion tool buzz to get their target market engaged with the event.

A mobile location-based experience during the 3-day music extravaganza will certainly fit in with the crowd and add more to the level of awesomeness!

Last month Koprol visited Detikcom. This month Detikcom guys visit Koprol.

SkyEight, the parent company of Koprol, hosted this month’s Jakarta.rb on Saturday, May 23, 2009. Several people, including top developers from Detikcom, came and shared various topics in this monthly Indonesian Ruby developers gathering.

Rafeequl started with a presentation on Yahoo! Mobile platform and his experience integrating it with Ruby on Rails. And then Arie Keren from Detikcom presented Scrum, an interesting project management technique.

We also had some pizza and compared inside information between Koprol dan Detikcom such as its work environment and direction of innovation. You’re all welcomed to join when we host another one in the future.

A proud day for Koprol. Our very own Rafeequl Rahman aka. vcool won the $20,000 grand prize at the first YMDA in Indonesia, yesterday (May 16th, 2009) at Plaza Senayan.

YMDA is Yahoo!’s effort to promote their mobile application platform. They invited developers to compete in 5 categories by building a Yahoo! mobile application for 5 award sponsors. Winner of each category gets $10,000. Then the judges select one of those 5 winners as ‘Best in Show’ to receive another $10,000. Rafeequl, who entered alone, won the whole thing over teams of Indonesia’s best developers.

The application Rafeeq developed, called Lapangan Hijau, allows people to follow the national soccer league from their mobile phones. It provides schedule, live scores, even SMS reminders and account connection to Facebook.

By his own admission, Rafeeq did not expect to be named as winner at all. He came to the final event just to meet other contestants and to see who would win. He didn’t know how he won, but based on what an insider told him, the judges saw the ‘passion’ in his craft. And yes, Rafeeq did design Lapangan Hijau based on his own needs as an avid soccer fan.

Rafeeq credited his experience working at SkyEight and developing Koprol to be very helpful. He got familiar with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript frameworks, and plugins while developing Koprol. In fact, he built Lapangan Hijau with Ruby on Rails. He also thanks all his Koprol friends for inspiring and supporting him. From us here at Koprol, we can testify that Rafeeq is a very humble genius and we couldn’t be prouder. Go vcool!

The first official introduction to Koprol took place at a gathering of Jakarta’s creative industry professionals. The press and blogs may have interviewed us, but it is at this FreSh event on March 19, 2009, at fX Lifestyle X’nter that we presented our project for the first time. We also shared some insights to how we got to this point and plans for the future.

We were very glad that about 100 tech & media enthusiasts were willing to wait so late for our turn to present Koprol. They gave lots of questions and suggestions. The host said that it was their biggest attendance yet.
