djakarta! MengKoprolkan Jakarta

Double yay! Koprol was profiled twice by djakarta! magazine in their ‘digital relationship’ edition (No. 199, 21 April 2009). One is a full-page exclusive interview in their “One of Us” section, and the other is in the “Weh Weh Weh” section along with other cool sites.

You can still find a copy at your nearest coffee shop. Go get ‘em!

Koran Tempo: Yuk, Kita Koprol

Koran Tempo

Dimas from Koran Tempo wrote:

The newspaper article also shared some insights:

Pembuatan Koprol digodok sejak setahun lalu, tapi baru dikembangkan beberapa bulan terakhir. Karena masih percobaan, Koprol diluncurkan diam-diam alias masih dirahasiakan. Namun, rahasia itu telanjur bocor hingga memiliki sekitar 300-an orang anggota. “Kami senang sekali disambut baik.”

Pihaknya masih mengembangkan sejumlah fitur yang akan ditambahkan di Koprol, misalnya integrasi dengan peta, integrasi dengan Facebook (Facebook Connect), dan Blackberry App untuk para pengguna Blackberry.

Jakarta Globe: ‘Beat It, Facebook!’??

Koprol on Jakarta Globe

This is only Koprol’s first time mentioned in a newspaper, and already on the front page with a photo and the headline ‘Beat It, Facebook!’?? Yikes. Now that’s pressure.

Anita interviewed all four founders for a piece titled Social and Local: Network Lets Jakartans Share Their Scene:

A team of local software developers recently announced that they had developed a new social networking site similar to Plurk and Twitter that would allow Jakartans to communicate with each other and share tips about local hangouts.

Koprol.com is the brainchild of four self-confessed computer nerds who said they wanted to create a location-based microblogging service that could keep people informed about the latest events in some of Jakarta’s most popular hangouts, such as malls, restaurants and cafes.

They also got a comment from one of our beta testers:

Because it is still being tested, Koprol currently has a limited number of members. But those who are involved in the testing are already ecstatic about the site’s features and the fact that it is locally developed.

“The concept behind Koprol is good,” said Retno Nindya, a 24-year-old freelance graphic designer. “I am proud of the fact that it was developed by Indonesians.”

Koprol on Metro TV: Jejaring sosial buatan Indonesia

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

We’d think the first mention of our secret project would be in an underground blog, but apparently it was on national television!

The Metro TV crew came to interview me (Satya), Fajar, Aria Rajasa and Rama Mamuaya about Indonesian social networking sites in general. Between takes we gave Aria and Rama a demo of Koprol. When the clip came up, our quotes were packaged as a profile of Koprol. Whoa!

topik apa?
